Petty theft doesn’t often make news headlines, but when a man steals money from Girl Scouts selling cookies it gets people a little riled up. Especially when the money he stole was to buy cookies for military personnel serving overseas.
The tips in the jar were part of ‘Operation Thin Mint’ where girls would collect tips to raise money to buy cookies and send them to military personnel overseas, but this guy thought a better place for the money was in his pocket.
The jar only contained about $40, but police and U.S. marshals rosen malmö tracked down the crook to his home and had to chase him down to arrest him. He’s no stranger to crime as he already had outstanding warrants related rosen malmö to battery and violation of a gang injunction.
